for awhile. lighter showers from annapolis, prince frederick back to central charles county and to la plata, just had these clearly light showers, but certainly with the temperatures as cool as they are, it is a raw sort of afternoon. but still, in the mid-40s, in winchester and cumberland at this hour, andrews and la plata are 48, fredericksburg, 49 and salisbury 55. annapolis would have been closer at 53 degrees. lots of clouds on our michael and son weather camera here, 51 with the dew point of 66%. the disturbance is coming through the tennessee valley moving off toward the northeast. rains weakening in intensity here. we are seeing other showers developing, south carolina, north carolina toward southeastern virginia, kind of two areas we are going to watch for the afternoon. i think the futurecast is a little bit underdone with some of the rain here west of us. scattered showers and light rain, the good news is, other than an early shower tomorrow, we are going to be dry for the most part for the rest of the week. today yellow alert for the showers, later tonight, 53. tonight back in t

problems for our friends coming out of charles county and la plata. and then 20 # much like yesterday afternoon, that remain under water as well. 202 shut down in each direction at the marlboro pike. other side of town, justify as busy. we have shreve mill road that remains blocked off. the flooding continues at 267 near the dulles toll road. we all have a portion of old georgetown pike -- or the georgetown pike shut down in each direction and that is due to trees and wires down as well. we are dealing with flooding conditions again between 50 and 704 harmony church road. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. >>> the sewage treatment system that serves the vast majority of homes in howard county is now back in operation. but here is the thing. tens of millions of gallons of raw sewage discharged before electricity was restored to the plant. >> reporter: officials in howard county call this complex their water reclamation plant because after sewage is treated, the water clean enough to discharge into the little patuxent river. it takes an immense amount of electricity to run th

. as we look across the rest of the region, 58 degrees in martinsburg, 59 in gaithersburg, 63 in la plata, and 64 down towards fredericksburg. rainwise, don't expect any rain. i don't expect any rain until at least monday. we're going to see very dry conditions. those dry conditions will allow for temperatures to start to fall. we'll get quite chilly tonight. but tomorrow night, very chilly. some areas at or below freezing. washington, not included in that freeze watch. but montgomery county, howard county, loudoun county, and everybody to the north and west. i think some areas may not just get around 32, we could see some 20s in parts of the area. maybe 28, 29. we're talking some very cold air that's starting to race on in here. that is a little bit early for the season. but once again, we're not going to stay cold for quite so long. i do expect a warm-up by the end of the week. once again, a freeze watch tomorrow night for the areas you see here highlighted in the blue. satellite and radar showing -- nothing. clear skies, just a beautiful day out there on this thursday. it will continue
